Dust Collectors Process Description

Dust Collectors
Dust collectors are used to recover valuable granular solids or powders or to remove granular solid pollutants from exhaust gases prior to releasing said gases into the atmosphere. They are frequently used to improve or maintain air quality as an anti-pollution device.

In order to qualify and function as a dust collector, the machine requires a power source for the system’s motor power (usually registered in horsepower), a particle size minimum in order to filter air, airflow (the velocity of the manufactured airstream), and storage for the filtered particles.

Systems for fine removal may only contain a single filtration system, but most collectors have multiple filtration systems.

There are five basic types of dust collector units available; including free standing ambient air units, collector booths, down draft tables, portable units and stationary units such as a bag house which traps particles in large fabric bags. (Article content credited to Jennifer-Lynn Jennings)

Used dust collectors are categorized as D8300. Donaldson Torit and Aercology manufacture dust collectors.
